If youre a single guy, not necessarily. If youre in a couple and both you and partner make pretty good incomes, a house is kind of a must.

Depends on every person, their needs, and what they want to do in life. Do you want a yard? Do you want to be responsible for mowing the lawn, and repairing anything that goes wrong in your home? Or do you want a landlord that will take care of all of that stuff for you for a rental fee that goes into nothing? Do you work in the city and not want a commute? Do you not mind a long drive to have a place of your own? Do you just not want a car at all and have everything within walking distance, or can take the city bus or train?
