If it's a laptop then probably not. Desktop parts are usually more powerful than laptop parts are, so if you get a desktop with like an i7 9700k and a RTX 2080 then it'll probably last but i would go with the i7 10700k since it has 8 cores and 16 threads like the PS5 and Xbox Series X will have.

Do you have a laptop that's easy to open up and replace parts? You could swap out the SSD for a bigger one if you do. That's what I did with my cheap gaming laptop.

Macrium Reflect is what I used for my laptop, and I've used Clonezilla in the past. That one isn't as user friendly, though. I then used EaseUS Partition Master to clean up the partitions. --- Many Bothans died to bring you this post. ... Copied to Clipboard!

define "last".
will it play new games at max settings in 4k or even 1080p by the time the consoles stop receiving new games? not even close. pretty sure you can't even max certain games right now in 4k... at least not with ray tracing on. will it outlast the consoles by far in its ability to play new games that meet the minimum requirements while consoles will artificially stop getting games they could easily run in order to push the next-next-gen(like indies and such)? hell yes. oh and since it's a laptop then doubly yes on the first part since it's probably a weaker version of the actual 2080. also, get a laptop cooler or the hardware will most likely die before lasting long enough to outlast its gaming relevance. --- ... Some games are already starting to recommend 16 GB of RAM so maybe you could bump that up to 32. Other than that, it seems like consoles are a lot more competitive with PC this time around given the price tag. It's hard to say how long that one will hold up.

Well the RAM upgrade seems cheaper and easier, which I suppose you could do any time in the future. Does nVidia have any plans for higher VRAM cards? I don't even know what enough is anymore. I got my 2GB 770 in 2013 and even then I was disappointed at how little VRAM those cards had at the time. Felt like they had been holding back for a while. ... Copied to Clipboard!
