The middle class doesnt get college fee waivers. They have to pay taxes instead of getting a return. They dont qualify for EBT. A lot of them are struggling with their mortgage. Is the middle class getting a bad deal?

In Canada politics is largely based around the middle class... So I would say they're not getting a bad deal

I mean...I'm not gonna try and claim that it's easier to live in poverty...but it's a lot easier to get help with college. Most middle class families make too much to qualify for aid but not enough to actually help their kids. People in poverty get money thrown at them, and in some cases they drop out and keep the money (my neighbor did at least lol).

But it's not like every poor person does or can go to college even with financial assistance. Also you're mixing up poor students getting help with college and poor parents not getting help with much else...

Only the wealthy get adequate support(excessive support, really). The middle class has been squeezed harder and harder over the course of the past 40 years, and racialized attacks have been used to justify the shredding of our social safety net, making poverty increasingly hereditary.
