All those protestors being shoulder to shoulder for days on end, many without masks. They obviously spread the virus to all the younger people who have been infected revently.

protesters were outdoors and wearing masks, the virus can spread but isn't as likely to spread as it is indoors in places with poor ventilation and when people are stubbornly refusing to wear masks

Honestly, this is literally common sense. Thousands of people in very close proximity for days on end, is gonna end up greatly spreading the virus. Some Forbes article that has obvious left bias in it doesn't change that fact. All the "homework" is done by people who want to prove that the protests aren't the cause, so of course that's what their "research" is gonna find.

I havent celebrated 4th of July in years.

Fact of the matter is the biggest spikes are occuring in the states that opened up early, not the states that had the biggest protests. That should tell you something.

its to end a problem that has killed many many more than covid likely will

once in several generations opportunity here to enact meaningful change

so is the protesting a covid risk? yes. no one denies that, but it is absolutely false to say that the protests are the reason for the major spikes being experienced across the country
