Men are never as much of a joke as women.

Even drunkards that spend all their time at a bar are seen as "fathers" or "dads". Women who don't come home and abandon their kids are trash as far as society is concerned - not even worth a home.

yea. that's my point. 'dad' is a status symbol plenty of men have zero chance of attaining.

it's easier being a guy in general because less is expected of you, but if nothing is expected of a person then they can't really expect anything for themselves, can they?

also TC what is your take on the fact that women are generally doing better than men these days, sexual objects or not? better education and better careers. they seem to have an easier time with independence. i think that is part of why it's actually hard to be a woman now, they need to have amazing lives or else they're not living up to the standard.

why do you disagree? i was mostly basing it off older articles i've stumbled on. but i don't have the best snapshot of the situation, admitedly.

as for why women are more independent, it's really just a guess. i could be totally off base. but i feel like i'm right about it, not sure why. :P
