I do. Every day since beginning work from home several months ago, I have spent at least 4-5 hours during the workday honing my abilities in various games across multiple genres. Most recent examples include Xenoblade Chronicles, Pokemon Shield, and Warzone. My spending of these hours between 9AM-5PM should go to show you the level of commitment and dedication I am willing to put forth.

Yes, I rather enjoy playing and making them. Lately I've been into Ace Combat 7. And some stuff from other developers, like Slay the Spire and some old Genesis games. You ever play Ristar? I was a Nintendo kid growing up so I didn't even know it was a thing.

But anyway, one of the things that are cool with Ace Combat 7 is the weather effects. I love how going through clouds messed up your lockon. Back on the PS2, you know, 4, 5 and Zero, as long as you were high enough, you didn't have to worry about where you actually were but with the clouds, if the enemy runs into the cloud, now you have a meaningful choice. Do I chase this enemy, or do I do back across the map to find another one? Which is gonna be quicker? Does the time even matter? Or maybe I go in there with the guns and shoot it down the old fashioned way?

See, you're setting up a scenario where the player is prompted to affect the overall system of the game through his decisions, which is really what gaming is all about. You're testing the player's reaction, because the enemy enters the cloud and you gotta do something. Then you have that element of skill by giving them the gun option, which is normally more challenging. And then there's the element of memory, thanks to the carefully-placed incognito tutorial on clouds in Mission 2.

And that was just one thing I loved about it. I could go all day but I have an interview with Konami at 2 also. *chuckles*

Sure. I use them as a reason to tinker with and improve my computer, and I prefer games that let me step back and consider my next move so I can make an informed decision. I obsess over finding ways to optimize gameplay and finding ways the system is "broken" in ways that might not have been considered. I primarily play a supporting role in multiplayer games, which forces me to make snap triage decisions to help everyone succeed - which I admit has been a weakness of mine, and one I try to specifically shore up through that role.

I hope that's helpful for a troubleshooting or QA role.

I've had it come up on informal/internal applications. Hell, I even put "pro wrestling" as a hobby for a QA role, noting that my interest is in "the show behind the show", the booking, planning and psychology. Raised an eyebrow, but got acknowledgement - and the role.
