Considering how much trouble some specific users cause, I am sure the mods do eventually get fed up with them and will treat them more harshly than they would the typical user.

no, i think confirmation bias plays into it in a huge way. users see that 'every time' they violate the rules that they are modded, but they see posts that violate the rules as well and don't see them get modded and assume something is up.
this of course ignores every post that does get modded, but why would they even see them? parts of it remind me of the invader-host relationship in dark souls. an invader can invade a hundred times in an afternoon, easily, where a host is probably going to run into 3-4 different invaders tops over that timeframe. occasionally, a host will think i'm singling them out and targeting them. it's a perspective issue. --- ...
