How is this a question

For daylight savings it's "spring forward, fall back". Forward means plus, you're not going back in time in spring.

Moved forward = later

I would normally say "pushed back" to mean later.

But then I'm one of the two people at the moment who voted 10am so I'm prepared to be roasted.

My mind went straight to 2 p.m.

But I'm the exact opposite of a business man. Im much closer to a hippy if anything.

I say 10:00 am.

If I was told "the meeting at noon is being moved backward by two hours," that would imply to me that it is now at 2:00 pm.

Backward and forward are opposite, so "the meeting at noon is being moved forward by two hours," that means 10:00 am.

I am always willing to take the minutes of meetings, there should be some compensation for the hours we lose in damnable things.

No, because if you're looking at something and it moves forward it's moving away from you.

The future doesn't look back, it looks forwards aka away from you. If the future moves forwards it's moving away from you, aka later.

Now make this topic for back (I dont think anyone says backward in relation to meetings and time). Based on this poll, it should be pretty close, but I guarantee the majority would vote 2pm for that (honestly, nobody thinks back would mean 10am), meaning those same people should be voting 10am here.

It should be: Going back(ward) means further away (in time), so thatd be 2pm. Forward usually means something along the lines of closer toward you, up close, to get ahead or in front of, and in the case of time its earlier/before. So if youre moving 2hrs forward in comparison to noon...youd be at 10am.

We're not talking about the future as an abstract concept, we're talking about a meeting with a designated time.

When people say something like "alright, moving forward..." it means "we're moving onto the next course of business now," not "we're gonna wait around a while and take care of our next task at some point down the line."
