Honestly, play it. I went into it expecting it to be a massive pile of garbage, and while it's certainly not the BEST Pokemon game, I still had lots of fun and found it to be better than I had originally thought. Definitely would rank it above the Gen 7 games.
Don't get the DLC though. At least hold off until Crown Tundra, and even then wait about a week after it comes out for opinions. Isle of Armor was pretty disappointing. --- The Bagel made me do it. I am the master of dead memes ... Copied to Clipboard!

Kind of want to play it after LGP got me interested again, but just looking at the low effortness turns me away. I might look back into it once the DLC is fully released if they have a cheap game+DLC bundle.
