Unless you're a high class establishment meant as much for business as for dining, I can understand having a dress code.

If you're not that, then why care?

It's true that some restaurants have dress codes, and it's also true that some restaurants use a dress code as an excuse to discriminate.

The fact that this guy was nitpicking about one kid's graphic tee having athletic logos and the other kid's graphic tee not having athletic logos tells me this is not about dress code. A t-shirt is a t-shirt. Theres no way their policy draws this distinction.

Yeah, this is pretty much a textbook example of using a dress code as an excuse to deny service to minorities. Dude was pressed to articulate why her son's attire wasn't allowed, but the other kid's attire caused no problems.

And really, who cares how kids are dressed at restaurants?

They cater to snobs who want to be better than common folk and are insulted to have to eat next to them. They had no problem letting the other kid eat there because their clientele felt comfortable with his family. I wonder why they would be uncomfortable with this kid in a Jordan shirt

They got caught in a double standard. And even after being caught and knowing they were wrong didn't concede and back down.

Restaurant dress codes are so fucking pretentious. If it's a place you can take your children it's not fancy enough to warrant a dress code tbh
