I remember. It got me real excited to be able to hide in plain sight. I was always a weird little stealth fetishist.

Yep, I was stuck in Boston since my brother had to have something done at Boston Children's Hospital. It happened on the final day there, we couldn't get back since we got there by train.

Was that when the solar storm hit the generators in Canada? I was in NYC when the city went dark and was freaked out that there would be a massive crime surge but instead people mostly came together to help each other.

I remember some pretty funny moments where my uncle was having trouble getting the generator to run both the refrigerator and the air conditioner. My grandfather just kept telling him to forget about the food and that the AC was vital. Don't recall much else except it was hot as hell and there was nothing to do.

I was in Toronto and I remember seeing on the news once the power came back to some areas first how many people were helping others get home.

I remember a blackout in my town in summer 2008. Shit was crazy. Never seen that many stars in the sky before.

I remember that day vividly because that was between the times my neighbor moved in to their house and my other neighbor and childhood friend moving away to Texas. I remember the blackout, I remember my neighbors and childhood friends were trying to catch fireflies. Those days are nostalgic.

A bit. I can't remember if it really affected us or not, so it couldn't have been that bad for me.

I had left NY by then but of course my fucking luck the blackout is literally the one week that year I decided to visit all my old friends.

Fun times.

We eventually got word that my friends' father who lived in New Jersey got power back earlier than the rest of us and by then Amtrak was running so we had to walk from Queens to Penn Station to catch Amtrak to new Jersey. (The Subway wasn't running and the busses were so full it was impossible to get on one nevermind how uncomfortable it would be if you did.

As we walked through Manhattan there were people on the sidewalk selling bottles of water out of coolers with ice for $8 each. One of my friends bought one.

I was at a summer school about 15 blocks away from my house when it happened so I just walked home like normal. My father luckily was home but my mother was in Manhattan so she had to cross the bridge in order to get to a less populated area for my dad to pick her up. We had to quickly eat our food from the freezer that was quickly thawing. Also my Gba SP had batteries so I was fine that night.

My sheer coincidence, I was actually in Michigan when that happened and actually got to experience it. I think phone lines were still working, if memory serves. I didn't go into town or anything during that, so I didn't get to see if anything felt weird with traffic or anything. Didn't the blackout only last a day or something?
