I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me the logic of walking out in defense of a cop shooting a guy in the back. It's the same as the cops in Buffalo being butt hurt because people got held accountable to shoving an old man who was doing nothing to the ground. Why are the cops mad that the bad apples that they always claim are the problem are now being held accountable?

Being a cop is just a job its not a 300 spartan thing. People quit all the time. Hate is at an absolute high and Supreme Court case law justified shooting happened and the officer got a politically motivated book thrown at them. The mayor turned their back on all of them and basically told the chief to step down.

but these cops are bad for quitting lol? Theyre smart fuck that. Let the mayor hire other people.

Yes, that is a fair point, but it does not solve the immediate problem. The precincts now have less working bodies and the rest will have to pick up the slack, which any employee anywhere will tell you is not ideal, and it wouldnt be surprising if more officers quit. Where are they going to find good recruits or retain the actual good cops? Youd have to be a moron or a sadist to still want the job, considering the current climate. Hire those people and youre back to square one with cops that are either incompetent or violent, maybe both.

I'm not sure that's going to be true

Sure they will be inexperienced as hell but I think there are thousands of people looking to become police right now that want to make a difference and change the system

I 100% agree that childish incompetent cops quitting because they don't get to bully people with impunity anymore is a bad thing short term as far as manpower goes. But long term? It's probably a benefit. Anyone who says the things these cops are saying shouldn't be cops

The only concern I have is other PDs picking up these cops and rehiring them elsewhere when they are clearly useless.
