I think it's more the general effect when you notice a drop when you're playing.

Then why do memesters complain about consistent, smooth 30 fps? Dunno. I played BoTW this gen with no issues. However, if I'm playing a shooter online, and my fps drops, it's like what is this molasses! --- You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending. -Misattributed to CS Lewis ... I can't tell you which games I have play in 30 and which in 60Lol really? The only time I ever have trouble is if a 30 fps have has stellar motion blur. Sometimes it can go a long way to make 30 feel better. --- <insert sig here> ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah, it's noticeable between 30 and 60 but I don't think 30 FPS is bad for most context nowadays aside from high-speed or highly competitive games.
FPS is ALSO the limitation for input precision, meaning stuff like fighting games can legitimately be impacted at the higher end by less precise input windows. --- I presume my time here in my darkblack dragondark steel-obliterating solitude has come to its end as well. http://www.last.fm/user/Pogo92 ...
