it's A problem but not THE BIGGEST problem. first they need to deal with simple survival. getting a better school won't matter if a cop guns them down

there are cases of even black kids from good schools being killed. cops see all black kids as punk from the hood. one time there was a case of a black kid who was adopted and raised in a white family. he didn't even see himself as black. and he was in a car with a bunch of white friends. he wasn't even the driver. they got pulled over. the cop was friendly to his friends. but got very violent with him and almost shot him.

Not shifting around which schools people can go to while they're still stuck in an otherwise dysfunctional and abandoned neighborhood. School choice and charter schools are one of the things bleeding public education dry.

That underfunded school you described just got less funding now because white suburban moms can't bear to let their kids go to public schools.
