Character Models are definitely great, but everything else suffered.

1) The Backgrounds are much more worse than before
2) The Sound Effects are either missing or not the correct sound effect.
3) There was some baffling minor changes to dialogue than kind of destroys the personality of that character (nitpick really, but that was something I was reading about)
4) Minor missing scene (There was supposed to be some kind of oglop scene; I'm thinking they removed it because they couldn't HD that asset)

Tbh the only offending one is the Sound Effects that were missing or had high pitched sounds that sounded nothing like the PSX version.

I was almost tempted today to buy it on PS4, but then did my research and changed my mind. The other option was buying it off STEAM and mod it, but it was no guarantee if that game was going to work correctly.

Moguri Mod definitely looks great, but it doesn't fix all the issues; the problem with the A.I. upscaler is that it tends to smear objects to look more like a painting smudge on some objects.

Also

I refuse to have STEAM out of principle considering I don't like their business practices.

That is one lesser NPC in the game; its a nitpick sure, it was obvious the person was purposely speaking like that like a child, and now its gone.

That was the only scene (from what I read); its a lesser scene, but from what I've read there was supposed to be Oglops jumping around in a particular scene, but for some reason were absent.

The guy's game may have been either bugged or it was lost for reasons unknown.

As for the dialogue that was changed what I posted earlier was one example this guy on reddit shared, but there was also other minor changes as well.

It's not censorship, but really pointless dialogue changes from what I know atm.

I'm not making this up; one of the most noticeable is the missing Death Sfx sounds, and this restores that.

It also gets rid of the vastly inferior Sounds SFX that was packaged with the PC port with the PSX sounds as well.

It is quite shoddy; I'm surprised that got onto the market like it did.

I thought the half-assed remaster of FF8 was bad enough, and especially when Squall looks nothing like the original Squall.

I did find something interesting about FF8R

The world map actually doesn't look like a trash despite what people were posting; apparently it might be some kind of loading issue with the assets because it doesn't seem to affect everybody.

Having to do online authentication just to initialize a game; I think it is pointless and they should have gone with how GOG does it.

Stories where people's accounts would get deleted which means you lose access to everything you bought, and people were falsely reported.

How some games HAVE TO BE CONNECTED ONLINE just to play it.

The whole controversy surrounding Denuvo on the occasion.

Constant Steam APP updates that interfere with whatever you're trying to do in your game.

Terrible Customer Service.

Games getting removed (lol digital is the future; yeah right)

My main concern is the account getting deleted which means you wasted a good chunk of your money if you have a hefty library.

But to fair to you PSN has its problems as well, but no where near as bad as STEAM.
