We never actually closed, but we did drive-in church for several weeks. We continue to broadcast now in addition to having the sanctuary open. I'm on the leadership team and I opted to stay the course but I was the only one, so, they reopened. The biggest mistake was taking a survey. They put out a survey and people overwhelmingly wanted to reopen. And I mean, I get it. God is bigger than Covid. God can protect us. That's absolutely true. But he also gave us brains as one means of said protection. Proverbs 14:8 says "The Wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception." I woke up to ants in the hallway by the front door. Going to have to fuck up their nests outside. Today I made and ate burritos, read some comics, listened to a few albums and created a simple pen and paper roleplaying game with my kids and spent awhile creating monsters for it then printed out an instruction booklet for them.
