in the end they are just games. Sure they probably have a bigger budget but in the end all you are doing is giving games labels. They live off their name not necessarily their design. All AAA games aren't great.

Its almost that you guys won't buy a game because the masses don't perceive it as big budget and thats a problem.

AAA has never been a synonym for great. It just denotes the big budget games from major publishers.

There are great AAA games and terrible ones. Budgets in media are not always used responsibly.

the more people, and more experienced people, the more we expect it to be great.
this goes for everything in life. you expect more out of a bridge built by thousands instead of by two.
it's not always the case but yes big budgets do create higher expectations.

But they don't always lead to better games and thats sometimes how it plays out so why hold them to the highest light?

AAA games just aren't good anymore. More money, more problems.

Sony has the problem of huge budgets and the games end up being movies. They're basically highly interactive visual novels. It's a formula that appeals to people who just want to have a little fun here and there, but horrible for the health of gaming

AAA to me just means Hollywood quality. Good voice actors, musical score, etc. In other words, big budget.

Not all of them interest me. I couldn't even make it halfway through red dead redemption 2. The quality was there, but just for whatever reason the game it didn't reach out and grab me.

AAA doesn't even always refer to big budget. Modern Nintendo games get called AAA all the time when the quality is a couple generations behind the truly high budget games.

AAA games are just like blockbuster movies. They have a big budget from big studios, but that doesn't make them good or bad.

Sure, there's people that only play CoD, but thats just the same as the people that only see blockbusters at the movies like the Avengers.

What's so hard to understand about people and publishers using the term AAA to describe a game from a popular company?

It's not really a buzzword and I've personally never heard any gamers say they only play them unless they're console fanboy kids. It's just gaming lingo like calling all cheap download only games indie games it's just another term thrown around who cares.
