Its really not that much worse than the first two games. The biggest issue is that they didn't learn shit from the first two games at all, the characters in this game are just as underdeveloped as their predecessors, if not SOMEHOW more so. The game wasn't nearly long enough to warrant introducing 8 party members, they should have given us four, and actually gave them personalities. Its especially annoying to have a bunch of underdeveloped/boring characters when your main character is a Silent Protagonist, this just doesn't work at all and makes cutscenes even more dull than they already are. Doesn't help that said Silent Protagonist this time is...pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

Also points of no return are stupid and the first two games didn't have any at all IIRC. The game is also somehow even easier than the first two, mainly because one of the characters is an I Win button in a game series full of I Win buttons.

That all said, I actually do like that there were good and bad consequences to Alchemy being released instead of it just being all sunshine and rainbows. They may not have been WRITTEN well but I liked pretty much all of the ideas that came about from it. With polish and competent writing this story could have been pretty good. There are quite a few plot points I could have done without, but it doesn't really matter since the series is effectively over anyway.

Also, Kraden still sucks and isn't wise at all.

But yeah, how does CE feel about Dark Dawn?

Beat it. It was fine, the gameplay was still great and I enjoyed the visuals a lot.

All the years of speculation and hype only to lead up to this underwhelming game just soured me on it. Played it up to the half way mark and just lost intrest. Maybe I just got to old but I wasn't enjoying it.

I cant remember the specific reason but something about it felt off and shallow.
