1. My first rated r movie was Event Horizon.

Shit had me scared for weeks

Like seriously, one time my dad started SCREAMING at me because I broke a bar of hotel soap by accident >_>

Imagine like 10000000000000000000000000000000000x of those moments, all the time, over 18 years.

Pulled me out of school in 4th grade. The plan was to homeschool me, but I wasn't even educated for over 5 years.

Was never allowed to "question" their authority. As in, ask questions like where we're going, or what's happening.

Being blamed for everything wrong in their lives. Dad used to tell me he wished I was dead because my eye and hair color are different from his.

Asked if I could borrow the car to go to the mall once. They said they'd report it stolen and put me in prison for auto theft if even touched it.

Was taught to never defend myself when being attacked. Even so much as defensively raising my arms to block a punch or slap would escalate the situation into either a harsher attack or weapon use.

When I told them I was looking for an apartment, and possibly a room mate, so I could move out. I was told that anyone who want me as a room mate would just be using me for money, and end up raping and torturing me to death...

Told my entire life that I'm no good for anything, no one would ever love me, and that i'm a total failure. This one hurts the most because it turned out to be true.

My mom thought that my preference of books instead of basketball was some sort of severe disorder, and she let me know it. I thought my parents really did not want me until I was about 14, where I realized they were genuinely well meaning, and just incredibly poorly raised themselves, and also just plain stupid.

They would force me to sit at the table until I ate all of the food off my plate, which consisted of horribly unhealthy foods like hamburger helper and shit that I wasn't even allowed to portion myself. So in order to avoid sitting at the table for hours picking at cold food I learned to just inhale whatever food was in front of me. Now I have way disordered eating habits with anorexia and binge eating.

My dad threw me up in the air and caught me, even though I screamed bloody terror. He thought it was funny. I think it contributes to my now paralyzing fear of heights.
