The CW's Batwoman will be introducing a new character to take over the title role of the series after Ruby Rose shockingly left the series!!

Rather than replace Kate Kane, the show will bring in "Ryan Wilder" to take over

A casting notice for the role was sharedo Reddit beforeit was removed as the casting called the new character "likeable, messy, a little goofy and untamed" as she will also be somewhat younger and will be in her late 20s who is the opposite of Kane.

It says "With no one in her life to keep heron track. Ryan spent years as a drug runner,dodging the GCPD and masking her pain with bad habits. Today, reformed and sober, Ryan lives in a Van with her plant. She's a girl who would steal milk from an alley cat and could also kill you with her bare hands. Ryan is the most dangerous type of fighter, highly skilled and wildly disciplined. An out lesbian. Athletic. Raw. Passionate. Fallible and very much not your stereotypical all-american hero"

The casting is encouraging LGBTQ+ performers to audition that is expected to film in Vancouver (hopefully) later this fall and air in January 2021.

Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter confirmed they want to bring in an LGBTQ member for the role as Rose herself identified as a lesbian in a genderfluid series.

Rose left the series after having trouble adapting to the long series required of her as she said it wasn't an easy decision to exit the series and wanted to thank CW for the opportunity to play an iconic role.

It's not known if the character will be an alter-ego character from the DC universe or if it's an entirely new character.

Rose apparently was UNHAPPY living in Vancouver and had huge backlash when the show aired last fall and for the casting decision to make her for the title role as she had to fight hard to change minds.

I know nothing about the show, but atleast one complaint everyone kept saying over and over was that silly red wig in the suit. They can get rid of that now.

Uhh...not a good idea.

just replace the actress. I mean if this were a few seasons deep, sure. It could be its own story arc. But this early on you might as well just replace the actress.

Saves me from needing to watch the rest of season 1 though.

This is a fuck-up. With the exception of Luke, the son of Lucius Fox, every character in the show is connected to Kate Kane. For those who don't watch, this is the main cast:

• Mary Hamilton, Kate's stepsister.
• Alice, Kate's sister and the main villain so far
• Jacob Kane, Kate's dad
• Sophie Moore, Kate's ex-girlfriend
• Julia Pennyworth, Kate's ex-girlfriend
• Not a main character, but it should be noted that Bruce is Kate's cousin.

The first season also got cut short, so the plot with Alice is left unresolved. Her current plan is to kill her sister which is going to be difficult if her sister evaporates and is replaced with some new chick.

The previous big CW crossover also made a point about Kate being a super-important thing called a Paragon of Courage, so they won't be able to do anything with that plotline later on if they do this.

Supposedly the entire reason Rose left the show was because add he hated spending 9 months of the year away from her home in Australia. This leaves the door open for her to come back in a smaller role where she can spend less time filming and complete her story archs.

She's apparently said that's not the reason.

Which is weird because it's by far the most understandable one.
