Why would I go on gamefaqs to engage in high school standard debates about police brutality with people who are clearly of no mind to change their own views. I'm not sure this is the epic own you think it is!

I actually express many totally earnest views on various things in gamefaqs and engage in many fun discussions excuse me if I don't think a guy who has spent the last 6 hours accusing people who support riots as a form of escalated direct action of being (a) unemployed or (b) privileged suburbanites or (c) violent fascists or (d) some combination in of the former 3 options is going to change his mind because I chose the right combination of words that unlocked something in his brain. Do you even believe that some heated debate will provide anything but self congratulatory mental masturbation? I don't think you do. Generally speaking, people who hate the government for doing things like bombing hospitals and funneling money from the people to the wealthy elite dont hate when the government does something good like provide funding for higher education.

Destruction of my television =/= attempts to injure, kill, or maim another human being. Which is what violence is.

those corporate businesses are still responsible for jobs and financial circulation in their cities, it's a hill and a half to climb for people who want to convince others that riots are some sort of chaotic good campaign

and after these businesses are gone, i can't imagine anyone rebuilding anything

why try and plant more crops in a field of nettles when they already strangled your harvest?

"Something" can be an animal, it can be a group, it can be a community or a race of people. It can't be a television set.

No normal person would be pushing for the same word -- "violent" -- to be used for attempted homicide and breaking a TV unless they had an agenda.

The World Health Organization's definition of violence is "the intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or community, which either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, maldevelopment, or deprivation." That's violence.

neither does the murder affect my life at all, but it's clearly more egregious than the riots
