Yeah, it was a protest about the city knocking down some really old shitty apartments to build new shitty apartments. Got dragged there by a girl I wanted to fuck.

I used to protest for marijuana decriminalization and releasing medical marijuana patients who had been incarcerated.

I was also at the May Day Riots in Seattle 2010. I wasn't there for ideological reasons so much as to get some good photography of the protests, though I shared in some of the sentiment.

Haven't had a reason to in my city.
It's not my place to go somewhere else to protest.

So no.

Yeah and it was stupid. A small group of people who actually gave a damn while99% of protestors were taking selfies and posting on IG.

No. Waste of my time.

Washington was the first state to fully legalize marijuana along with Colorado. I was out there picketing in front of jails before medical was even being CONSIDERED by most people as a treatment. Now it's fully legal. The cops would fuck with us. It was their job. We never got crazy or violent, but some people did end up in jail for exercising their right to assemble and express free speech. In the end we won. People need to realize it's not okay to just sit on the sidelines for the shit you believe in. You will continue to be victimized until you stand up for something to be done about it.

(EDIT) I should mention that it wasn't the picketing the dudes were arrested for, it was what we were picketing that gave the police probable cause. They took one guy in for smoking tobacco out of a pipe. The charge didn't stick because the lab tests confirmed that there was no drug residue in the pipe. He had no drugs on him and the paraphernalia charge didn't stick. He made a good point that day and was willing to go to court over it and put the system in its place.

Nope. Shouting at the top of my lungs for *insert cause here* isn't going to pay for my new house under construction.
