Brock Larson. Have also trained with Tony Martin and Maurice Greene, as well as several pro fighters in smaller circuits. Hell yes to Marcelo though! Would love to meet him someday. Man's a damn treasure and a straight killer to boot.

4 oz. I think they're century? I use 14 for sparring though. And I fought at bantam but I was a skeleton and it just wasn't a healthy weight for me. Much more comfortable at Welterweight.

BJJ DOESNT HAVE PADWORK. BJJ is grappling. Trust me, I actually practice striking arts.

Also, blue belts? Really? Unlike the mcdojo taekwondo your mom must have put you through in your younger years, blue belt is the second belt in BJJ, not one of the last. This is like a yellow belt in karate or taekwondo, good going.

another mistake: sparring gloves are not meant for heavy bag use, and vice versa.

people usually wear lighter gloves for sparring, in order to have faster strikes and better hand movement. They wear heavier, more padded glovesfor the heavy bag so they dont break their hands, because they can hit the bag full force, with 100% power and focus, something that is rare in sparring, given that sparring is not fighting and also the partner is moving around.

sparring gloves may be lighter, but they have softer padding.

Did I say I was doing jiu Jitsu today? No. And a 3 stripe blue (which I now am) is far, far above a karate yellow belt. Not all arts/schools are equal. But we could spar anytime. Not a threat, but a genuine extension of comradery.
