I feel like it's just something that happens naturally the longer you work anywhere. There will always be some people you just don't naturally click with, but people talking in the break room or whatever can be easy to jump into.

Also depends if you just want work friends (people that you talk to/have fun with at work but not outside of work) or if you want to hang out with them outside of work. Most of my friends currently are work friends, but I used to go out with my coworkers at my last job all the time to parties/clubs.

Is the issue that you and your coworkers just don't talk? Or you talk, but there's just no shared interests? Or is it something else?

I'm about the same age as you. I actually kept my close friends from HS so I'm lucky to have that. It would be pretty hard to make new IRL friends now for me personally, not sure if I could do it. Coworkers could work but it depends on who you work with. Most of mine are 10+ years older than me and even though we can get friendly at work and chat a bit, can't really see myself hanging with them outside of work. There are some closer to my age but they don't seem into the same things/activities as me (partially my fault for having some niche interests and not really broadening my horizons much).

I see online meetups suggested a lot, might be worth a try.

tried small talk when i first started. they were polite but not engaging. so i stopped and keep to myself mostly now.

Get a hobby you can meet up with other people and bond over.

Also have realistic expectations of what a friendship in your 30s is like. You're probably not gonna meet a buddy who wants to hang out with you everyday.
