Geez. My claim is really a struggle. It's functionally a vanilla because there's no point in a scan that says if someone is named Ushuo. Not claiming a stand or claiming a stand is a (redacted) argument. It would be on a safelist, or not, every character only has one stand so especially pointless to nitpick.

Okay this is just weird but it's the second time that this has happened. When Lea revealed on D1, she claimed Yasuho Detector. And google can corroborate that Yasuho Hirose is a character. But twice now she has mistakenly said "Ushuo" instead, which doesn't come up with anything relevant to JoJo on google.

On one hand, it'd be easier to mess it up if your claim is fake but I also think you'd be paying way more attention to detail if it was a totally made-up claim. I just think it's super weird that she's messed this up twice now. I noticed it the first time but figured it could just be a weird typo or something, but twice means it's actually something she's messing up.

What is a stand in this context

To compare to something like Harry Potter that most people are familiar with. Stand user = magic user. Non-stand user = Muggle. It's a little bit more complicated than that because stands were only introduced roughly 1/4th of the way through the story which means there's a pool of characters from the beginning that predate stands.

I really doubt that every vanilla character is Stand-less though, the same way that I would doubt every Vanilla flavor in a "Harry Potter Mafia" would be a Muggle. It'll just be more side characters as Vanillas than main characters.

As for lynching someone today, I don't have a preference between Sceptile and Scare. Whichever more people are on board with I will switch to.

I know that the flavor doesn't matter really, but being a Yasuho detector is bizarre. If characters are based on alignment (which it seems to be, Diavolo was bad, etc) then Yasuho is pretty much guaranteed to be town...

I liked Plum's argument about posting once and then leaving. Also was also wary of him from the previous day from how he was acting. Scept and Damion are the two I think are scum the most - but giving Damion the benefit of the doubt. since apparently he can be silenced which I was unaware of.

Oh shit. Oh fuck. TIME FOR YOUR USUAL EXPECTED DOSE OF BOLT PARANOIA. This is a good time to explain I'm not hyper familiar with JoJo stuff having only seen part 1 and most of part 2, but I keep up with memes.

Ok for those of you who aren't familiar with JoJo, the titular character (JoJo) is actually several people. They all are descendants from the Joestar family, usually with the letters Jo somewhere in their first name as well. Johnathan Joestar is the first one in the show, Joseph Joestar is his son in the second part, etc. So the "JoJo" bit pretty much applies to all of them.

The series has a similar reccuring nomenclature for antagonists, Dio. This starts in part 1 with Dio Brando and continues on with later evil Dios as well, such as Red's Diavolo. Its where the meme "But it was ME! DIO!" comes from.

ANYWAY. Why I feel this is relevant. If we assume all power roles have abilities based off their in-universe powers we might have a very, very serious problem. See, Dio Brando is arguably the series' main villain. And Dio Brando has some scary strong powers. The one that worries me the most, however, is the fact that he's a goddamn vampire who can turn other creatures into vampires by feeding them his blood. So yeah. could be we didn't see a kill last night because the scum team was blocked, but it could also be because they tried to convert someone.

My understanding is that this is an uncommon role on B8 but definitely not unheard of. The only game I've played here as not-town was during the Tournement of Power game few years back, where there was no "scum team" just a bunch of independent players who had to try to survive to the end... Except, unbeknownst to us at the start of the game, we all had special abilities the GM did not inform us of. I was Hider who could convert vanillas I hid behind to my faction (which actually got me lynched since I had no idea I could do that and converted someone I spent the previous day trying to lynch >_>;).

Oh shit, good point. Would totally fit with Dio's Stand. Perhaps we have a small but overpowered scum team? Red's role was certainly front loaded. Could also explain why Corrik keeps telling me scum are more powerful than I think they are

I am notoriously paranoid about scum powers, to be fair. And Death pointing out Damion might be time stopped makes total sense tbh. I doubt Dio Brando would be given both in this, but I also feel like Time Stop AND a role blocker might be too OP for scum team. The ability to shut down two players a day? Of course, GM had no way of knowing the cop would out himself D1 so...

While I love the contemplation, I think it's unlikely we see a recruitment faction. While games like Throne of Lies are based on them, a forum game that crosses multiple weeks of play creates unfun scenarios when Scum recruiting is used.

Frankly, with the concept that Damion might be Time Stopped in my head I don't really want to lynch him today. I feel like we have better options. Corrik is my first pick but I could be talked into lynching Scare, Lea, or Scept today probably.
