This. Something like exists somewhere or has at some point. I don't believe we've been visited though. The invention of the modern mobile phone with hi def cameras etc is just clear proof that aliens, ghosts etc aren't a thing to be seen here.

Like, an actual advanced alien civilization?

Sure, but there's no guarantee they exist today. They very well could've existed billions of years ago and are now long extinct, or they could exist billions of years in the future and their ancestors are just single cell lifeforms today.

The universe is gigantic, not just in terms of space, but time as well.
i mean if its a species that has advanced for 1000s, millions, of years, its possible they could just break through space time and things like that wouldnt really matter

I think its just a matter of an unimaginable distance rather than if they exist or not.

The brain is great at tricking us and making us think we see things that don't actually exist as well and often fills in gaps of memory/vision with what it thinks should be there.

It's a statistical impossibility that there have not been, are not, or will never be other sentient aliens, to say nothing of non-sentient alien life(there's growing evidence of multiple instances of that having existed or currently existing in our own solar system).
However, given the vast scale of existence versus the relatively short existences of civilizations(and the relatively tiny impact area of our sample size: us) and our understanding of the laws of physics, it's highly unlikely we will ever meaningfully interact with another sentient race. We would be incredibly fortunate to even ever conclusively prove one had existed in the past.

Yes, they most definitely exist or have existed or will exist. Its entirely possible were the only life for the next billion years, but that seems unlikely given the full scope of the universe. Our species will certainly never meet one unless it turns out live is abundantly common to the point where we have multiple races in our own galaxy and one or more invent FTL travel.

Without a doubt I believe intelligent life lives elsewhere in the universe. Do I believe we've been visited however? That I'm not so sure about.

When I was 6 or 7 I went to Canada's Wonderland on July 1st for the fireworks like we did every year. We would park along the highway (as would dozens of other cars) and watch the show from there.

I remember laying on the hood of the car and looking up at the sky. To this day I still believe I saw a flying saucer. The sun hadn't really started to set yet so it wasn't dark out yet. However, while I do believe what I saw was real, I also realize that I was only a child when I did see it.

Well said, my thoughts exactly. I think it's illogical to think we are the only living things in the entire universe.

Carl Sagan once said there's more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand on every beach on our planet. Billions upon billions of stars and we are the only one that has a planet that sustains life? There's no way. We likely will never know, but something else exists out there.
