Yes, don't take more than the recommended dosage or it will have the opposite effect that it's supposed to.

Also be aware that melatonin will not make you fall asleep, it is the chemical that your brain produces to keep you asleep.

It is good. Helped me alot few months ago

The thing is dont use it if you cant get 7 of 8 hours of sleep, because waking up with melatonin without proper sleep makes me so groggy.

Like i once used it as last resort at 3 am and woke up around 7 and felt so bad the whole day.

If you decice to do it, just take it before your sleep time

I actually bite these in half a lot of the time. It doesn't take much to work, and a full dose will leave me pretty groggy the next day.

Its pretty useful. I used it when I worked terrible hours and had to reset my sleep schedule every week.

It works by making you sleepy no matter what time it is. At one point last summer I was only awake for 5 hours during the day, and melatonin made me feel like Id had a full day of tiring activity. I was able to fall asleep at 7pm no issues.

Dont take more than the recommended dose, be aware that its designed to help you sleep for 7-8 hours, and read the label. Some brands are meant to be dissolved under your tongue (sublingual).

This. Don't pop one and sit in bed on your phone or reading a book. Take it as the last part of your nightly ritual, then turn the lights out like you're going to sleep.

It will make you a bit groggy when it kicks in, but you should be on your way to natural sleep when that happens for best effect.

To each their own. Its only made me groggy when I didnt get 7+ hours of sleep with it.

Since it's a health supplement, the actual pills aren't well regulated, so you can't really trust the dosage. Never-the-less, get the lowest dosage you can as the actual normal dosage is far lower than the lowest you can buy on the market.

Melatonin helps regulate your biological rhythms, you should be thinking about using it to entrain your body to a particular sleep cycle, and then once you're reliably entering it, not taking it anymore. Probably.

It didn't do much for me. It won't help you fall asleep, just help you have a more sound sleep when you do. If you need something over the counter, I prefer Unisom. The best over the counter sleep aid I've taken is Marezine, but I don't think they sell it anymore.

This. I think I only use like 2.5mg. Works 99% of the time. The only time it was ineffective was when I had way too much caffeine. It was a weird state where my head would be in sleep mode but my body would jolt itself awake.

Take it and have some spoken word thing playing in the background. Give it about 30 minutes.

I just take melatonin during the work week to ensure fast sleep.

Only use it if you have trouble falling asleep. Like youre still up at 2am but you have to wake up at 5am type deal.

You will feel it the next morning but a groggy 7 hours is better for you than a shitty 4 hours.

Always take it at least an hour before you want to lay down. This way the wave of tiredness will hit you while youre walking around doing stuff and as soon as you lay down youre out.

I have extreme anxiety and panic disorder which makes sleeping rough, considering racing thoughts. Melatonin doesn't work for me, and since I'm a weird case, benzos don't work either.

See if you can get a psychiatrist (or a nurse practitioner) to prescribe you Thorazine. That's the only thing that has helped.
