MATCH 1

YO-KAI Disco is another cool Yasui song! Very groovy song with a nice, catchy melody. I definitely prefer this kind of Yasui's music where there's a nice focus on a strong melody and chords.

Who Am I is also a pretty cool song. Chanting's a neat thing to hear in music, so I like that about this song. Some of the instrumentation towards the middle of the song like from 0:44-1:05 is also nice since it adds more to the song beyond the chanting. Both good songs, but YO-KAI Disco's the fairly clear preference.

MATCH 2

Yay, more good Follin songs! Just like with Beach, I really enjoy the classic rock elements that show up in Solstice - Title. 0:24-1:10 is probably my favorite part of the song, but the rest of the song's great too. I forget if I already said this in my Beach writeup, but Follin songs like this are relics of my VGM tastes from a few years back before I was exposed to a lot more music that still hold up today as songs I really enjoy.

I guess if I had to pick a version of Birth of a Wish that I like the most, I'd pick the regular version without the machine chanting. That said, though, this song and other versions, while kinda interesting, fall too far outside of my music tastes for me to get a lot of enjoyment out of them. I guess I see this as having too much of a "cinema orchestra" kind of feel to it. By that, I mean I see this song as something that's used for dramatic effect and not something that I'd want to actively listen to since I don't find much melodic appeal to it. That's not to say it's bad because it's not, it's just not what I'm looking for. I'll use Wretched Weaponry (Dynamic - Vocals) as an example of orchestra-sounding music from this game that I really enjoy.

Kinda close match here, but those lovely Atelier flutes in Yesterday's Opponents are just too good to pass up. I'm fine with either song advancing here.
