Before it starts to go bankrupt and people have to be sacrificed for the wealthy.

That seems less than ideal.

Because the majority of people here don't/can't save money for emergencies and the vast majority of the nation's wealth is in a relatively few hands.

Why are we asking people to do things businesses and corporations are unable to do?

yeah this has really showcased that the entire system of government and infastructure of the world doesn't work.

It's an entire system that only continues if there are no issues whatsoever. A war or a pandemic destroys everything

That's unsustainable.

It really makes guys like Wang calling for universial income look so much more reasonable.

People they have severe health issues dont count. Im talking your average 9 to 5 folks aged 25 to 60. Why is it that so many people in our country cant go a few weeks without a paycheck?

Because the US' economy and healthcare/employment system is completely broken?

Bills, taxes, etc...

I make 42 grand a year before taxes, i have decent benefits working full time

i have to pay student loans, rent, my car note and car insurance, internet, electric bill, phone bill, and food/whatever other misc bills come up

when all those expenses are done, i'm left with like a hundred bucks each paycheck. So instead of subjecting myself to living on the edge, I live with my mother, and now I'm left with 300-400 each paycheck. I'm age 24 though but ill be 25 in 5 months

Be more specific. As far as I can tell most people that are broke arent trying to improve their situation. They work a job and thats it. They are doing the minimum.

Also Shanks keep doing your thing. Get rid of that debt and set goals.

While I agree your average person probably should have considered their emergency savings better, wheres the rainy day funds for businesses pulling in millions or billions of net a year? Its a culture-wide problem. For a long time we believed its all about growth-growth-growth when it comes to running a business. Hopefully this can begin a shift in mentality.

I worked in retail for a long time. Many of the people I worked with are still there and admit they live paycheck to paycheck. They arent looking for new jobs. They arent expanding their skills. Everyone where I work at now makes decent money and most of them are broke because they are living beyond their means or they are making poor life choices. Just because you get a job with a bump in pay and benefits doesnt mean you have to go out and buy that new car and big house right away. But they do. And they do it ALL the time. And theyll keep doing it.
