Been getting that a few times when searching something in the chrome bar. Very obnoxious and not at all suspicious

It it's rare then don't worry about it.

If it's happening like every 5 minutes you either got shit on your PC or someone is jacking your WiFi.

They blocked me on my phone a few times a while ago, I can't remember if it was a similar message I got to yours though, I had to do those stupid "not a robot" picture things, the only thing I can think of was for me all my searches at the time began with "sims 3.." because I was obsessed with building at the time in there and always looking for ideas to copy, I guess repeatedly doing similar searches triggers them I dunno

By rare I mean it happens... every couple of months? I don't use the computer often so am not really tracking how often it appears. It just happens, and I'm more curious what triggers it, if it's something on google's end or my end.

It's Google's anti scraping / anti ddos tripping a false positive. There's really no reason to be concerned unless it's very frequent.

This. My last job had this happen a lot in the morning cause all the traffic came from a single IP. Not sure why it would be happening on your personal computer though.
