Apparently there is this new side effect of the disease that is taking out kids now. I guess in certain kids it can cause inflammatory problems and toxic shock syndrome. I only know of one death from this, a New York kid who was 5, but it seems like we find something new about this every week and it's always scary.

It's high risk people, and the vast majority of high risk people are elderly. Sub-1% of younger people dying doesn't mean anything to the average person. Social distancing is a good thing, but the vast majority of people would get it and be completely fine after. But doing that at the cost of millions of lives would not be a good thing.

People seem to fail to realize if the hospitals are flooded cause there is no lock downs in place, anyone can die. You get in a car accident? Rush to the ER only to wait in line? You are probably gonna die.

This isn't a comment about you, just a rant on people who downplay what underlying conditions are. Underlying conditions doesn't mean they are going to have shortened life spans. People with underlying conditions can live as long as anyone else, it makes me sick to see people try to use that as a reason for why it's not that big of deal. Honestly there is a pretty good chance you have an underlying condition that is not diagnosed. They see those two words and for some reason they picture people already dying. Having asthma is considered an underlying condition. Think of all the normal kids you used to see go to the nurse at school to use their inhaler. They have zero reason not to live to a ripe old age. Those are the deaths we downplay when we act like underlying conditions means walking dead.
