I was watching it the other day and there's an epsiode about a socially awkward virgin engineer who is always late called Barclay embarrasing everyone by being shit.

And there's a scene where a shocked Captain Picard is like "An unsatisfactory performance record on the Enterprise!? It's unthinkable! Unheard of! No! You have all to band together and make Barclay less shit."

The ship had a compliment of 1,000-6,000 and personnel transfered, died all the time. Across decades

Not one of these fuckers fucked up? Or was late a lot? Or disobeyed orders? Or were insubordinate? I don't buy that. I know it's the flagship but still, somewhere along the way people are going screw up or be overpromoted. It's a fact of life

Is this like IGN where the rating actually starts at 7/10 instead of 1/10?

Enterprise is the flagship, it's expected to have the best of the best.

They emphasize like a hundred times on the show that being assigned to the Enterprise is considered one of the highest Honors that you can achieve. I'm not that shocked that everybody took it seriously.

Then again, maybe Picard had a habit of assigning underperforming members to away teams, and the problem just corrected itself.
