If you're fat and unhealthy already getting an infection might possibly make you less healthy

Was this two time all American athlete fat and unhealthy?

Oh wait, this disease can cause massive harm to even healthy and fit people? And this will shock you, but if you have it so bad that you need a respirator, then odds are you have permanent damage to your lungs. So this two time all American athlete most likely has permanent damage to his lungs and isn't fat and unhealthy.

I guess you were off an hour with your more news comment.

Basically, as far as I understood, getting out of a severe/serious case of covid may leave lasting damage to lungs, heart or other organs?
I overheard my parents talk to someone whose relative ended up losing 30% of his lung capacity.

However, I imagine the number of people who suffer issues like these is very low (still far higher than flu and cold, obviously).

Even if it's very low, we don't know why it's affecting some healthy people so badly. I want to know more before taking my chances.

lots of people are apparently getting walking pneumonia that gets progressively worse, coming into the hospital with 'slight chest pains' only to find out their blood oxygen levels are alarmingly low.
