I tried calling someone today, but it refused to connect. I tried again later, but same problem. Is it possible I've been permanently disconnected from the network? I barely use my phone, although, I recieved some text about a week and a half ago, so clearly my phone was connected then. Help?

Well I can tell you that network itself isn't having any issues as I'm on that too and its working fine for me, I assume if they booted you off the network for inactivity they'd have to warn you first?

I hardly ever call or text anyone, but I don't remember any message telling me I was being kicked off. Wtf. This could be a serious problem.

I remember, my last phone, I got booted off the network. To be fair, I NEVER used that phone after a while, though. I think I was without a working phone for maybe 2 years...and worst of all, it didn't even matter.

Why are communications companies always trying to ruin my life? Faulty routers, bad connections, a phone that got disconnected from the network, and so on. Why? Why?

I restarted my phone, but it's still messed up.

I don't understand. I'm getting random messages sent to my phone, from the company, TODAY, but I can't make calls on the same phone. How is this possible? Explain to me how technology works.

People are meant to have working mobile phones. Now, I don't. I didn't go anything wrong. Although I rarely care about using my phone, I might need it in the future. Why?

Do you have credit / data on your phone? What is happening when you try to make a call?

You could try resetting the network settings (I've never done this myself, saw it on vodafone forums ), go to settings, have a look around and you'll find a "backup / reset" option, tap dat and there should be a "reset network settings" option - if that doesn't work then I don't know, if you'd been booted off the network you wouldn't still get messages like you said you're getting

At my old job I was connected to the Wifi then later on I couldn't get on, but others were still connected. I talked to the IT guy and he said it's an issue with my Android phone as someone else with a Samsung phone had the same problem. Weird how else where it connects fine to the Wifi. Out of the blue it did this and the phone barely has updates.

Can a Wifi connection be used to send texts, and make phone calls?

Not for text. Can use Wifi for Google Duo, Hangout, WhatsApp, etc. for their messaging service.

You can enable use Wifi to make calls or use above applications.
