MATCH 1

Don't Speak Her Name utilizes a lot of really pretty melodies and harmonies in its composition like at 0:55-1:15 and 1:57-2:37. This song changes things up a lot to keep a lengthy piece like this fresh. Nice seamless parts that flow together nicely. Definitely a nice perennial entrant.

I really like Mechalullaby! Feels very much like my music tastes around 2015-ish before I really got into the whole VGM thing when I would listen to stuff like ODESZA and Tycho. Basically very chill music. The chorus of this song is my favorite part with a really nice melody and good harmonizing (see 0:35-0:46).

Very close match and I could definitely see myself flipping here, but I think I'm more in the mood for Don't Speak Her Name today.

MATCH 2

Man that "HEY-HEEEEEY" intro to Second Dark Matter Battle is so cool. Great lead-in to the violin melody starting at 0:17. The way that violin portion starts out with its first few notes is so good. The rest of the song is very good too, but that first minute or so is the biggest standout of the song for me.

Blind Justice is another cool Zektbach song. I like the dark classical vibe this song has with the chord changes as well as the organ and harpsichord. Not my favorite Zektbach song but it's definitely a good song! Second Dark Matter Battle's too good unfortunately.

MATCH 3

I love Jake Kaufman's Shovel Knight tracks and, in particular, Strike Earth, but goldenslaughterer probably beats out like 75% of the ToC bracket at least. Both very good songs here, as we've seen from prior round 2 ToC matches, but fortunately, this one's a clear choice unlike some of the others.

Oops I'm so unenthused by todays songs I almost forgot to vote. Well the toc is alright, pretty close too. Going with strike the earth because goldenslaughterer is like twice as long and also incorporates elements I don't like listening to.

Match 1 is emotional orchestral vs. vocal. Emotional Orchestral is alright drama stuff when it's not being too moody sad but in general is not my thing. the vocal song is also not exactly my kind of thing largely because of the vocal focus, but it leaves more of an impression with how distinct the background sounds are, and is more interesting to me as a result. the way the song starts reminds me of an indie game.

Match 2 first song is also orchestral ish, but more of an emphasis on action and is more compelling than the match 1 orchestral as a result. Decent beat too. Still not really my thing but sort of getting there -ish. Vocal song here also has more of a unique instrumentation than the opponent song, but, is the moody sad feeling one this time, but that's not it's whole identity and it's got some cool variety in other ideas it explores. Honestly it's not that bad, for a group of 4 songs that aren't really my thing golly I wish I hadn't saved things for the last minute WHOOPS. Too much of it's identity is put around the moodysad feeling though, if that weren't the case I'd probably go for it. Or other things like no vocals or chorus thanks
