MATCH 1

Zeal Continent's a very cool song! 0:00-1:03 being my favorite part of the song. Feels like something I'd really want to hear in an RPG's battle theme. Really great melody with layered instruments doing their own thing, which I guess is a trend in some of the songs I really like in this contest. The intro does a great job at catching my interest with an awesome transition to the flute part. And then there's 1:03-1:19 which is very anti-me. Even 1:19-1:54 is noticeably less good to me compared to that first minute of the song. It's tricky sometimes to rate something like this since there's a part I really like and a part I really dislike, but I think the good part definitely outweighs the bad part here. I feel like this song would be perfect to me if was just a loop of that first portion of the song haha. Maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but I certainly wouldn't mind listening to that part on repeat several times in a row!

Don't really feel anything towards Metropolis ~ Kerwan. Feels like what a PS2 platformer game's music would sound like. It's fine, but not anything I'd actively seek out to listen to.

MATCH 2

You're Not Here has this really cool early 2000's alt rock vibe to it. This kind of stuff was part of my earliest music tastes when I was younger, so I'm definitely into this song. I think the chorus is my favorite part because of the guitar backing. Much better song than the other Silent Hill song that showed up earlier, in my opinion.

I understand the hype for Massive X, I've just never really felt like it was that good of an Eschatos song. I don't think it's the worst song in the game, but it's definitely towards the bottom of the pack. Massive X has the style of Yasui music that I like without the kind of melody I like. With this song, it's a fairly dissonant melody that jumps between different notes in a way that I'm not really a fan of. Funny enough, I like The Sign more than Massive X, which is just the same 5 chords that Massive X starts off with but arranged differently. I guess spreading out the chords makes it sound less disjointed to me? My top 3 Eschatos songs and ones I'd be happy to see in the contest are Extermination, Point of No Return, and Stellar Light (in that order), just to show that there are songs from this game I really enjoy.

MATCH 3

As if Flying Clouds, Drifting Haze vs. Preserved Valkyria wasn't a strong enough match, now we have this match as a round 2 match, only it's a similar level of strength and it's an even closer match! I think Despair of ELFERIA's my favorite Nekomata Master song that I've heard. It has an interesting start that gets more and more tense and upbeat before getting to 0:59 where the song really starts to peak. Really cool melodies all throughout. Especially from 1:42-1:56 when the flute comes in as well as the part right after that. Flash Frost's happy melody is so good too, though! Very tough match that I wish would only have to happen in a later round, but I think I have to go with ELFERIA here. I think I could go either way, though, in theory. At least no matter what the result is, it'll be a good one!
