The Switch, PS4 and XBox One don't seem to have much good stuff at all. Of course, it's all dependent on your personal tastes, and what console or consoles you own, but...things look seriously weak. I have a Switch, and the release schedule looks far from stella. Furthermore, I can't think of a SINGLE game this year that gets me really excited. In the future, the main things I'm looking forward to are BotW 2, and Pikmin 4, but we don't know if BotW 2 will come out this year, and Pikmin 4 has been in development hell for 5 years. I don't own an XBox One or PS4, but I can't think of many good games coming out for them any time soon. Let's not forget, the PS5 and XBox Series X are probably going to launch this year, which is always a BIG event for games everywhere, but the launch line-ups might...you know. Suck.

Thoughts on all this? I haven't seen a year this bad for gaming since...maybe 2012? 2013? 2003? 2004?

This year has already been one of the best years in gaming in a long time. Doom Eternal, FF7, Animal Crossing, Nioh 2, RE3, Half Life Alyx, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Persona 5, Gears Tactics, Trials of Mana, Tokyo Mirage Sessions.

Then there's big games coming up such as Cyberpunk, Watch Dogs, Dying Light 2, Xenoblade Chronicles, Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, No more Heroes 3, Tales of Arise, Bravely Default 2, and then new generation launches with whatever launch games they bring us such as Halo Infinite.

And before you tear apart the list saying "looks like shit" and "lol remake", these are big releases that had overall positive reception when launched or are big name games that many people are excited for.

Amazing, but around launch there were huge performance issues. A lot of slow down and often my xbox would just lock up, music still playing, for 10+ seconds. I don't know if they've been fixed by now.
