Even + Even = Even
Odd + Odd = Even
Even + Odd = Odd

So there are more Even numbers So with Odd being the odd one out, is that how we got the name for it?

i always just assumed Even meant it could be split evenly

and Odd couldn't so it's odd/different

If you arrange the numbers as pieces in pairs stacked on top of each other:

0:

XX

The even ones have an even top.
The odd ones have an odd piece sticking out.
