Just made it to Twoson last night. I am using the cheat code where enemies will always drop an item this run. Wow, I had no idea there were this many Beatles references and Runaway 5 actually had 6 members WTF.

I noticed Ness speed growth is horrible. Them shark clowns were SMMAAAASHING me from left to right before I could hit them back LMAO. Still an easy game, though.

The game is such a pain in the ass before you get a second party member lol. Its super tough in the first section of the game because you're slow and only one dude, and then becomes fairly easy for the rest of the game after that.

You have grind a bit early in the game against those shark clowns and also in the Onette cave abusing the butterfly. Hardest part is going to the blue KKK town but everything else is a cake walk.

@UnfairRepresent they actually translated the first one waaay back in the 90s but never released it cause of the SNES looming.

However, they did finally legally sell it for the Wii U's virtual console, repackaged as Earthbound Beginnings.

Best game ever. Which is odd since I almost always prefer games with refined, challenging gameplay, over story and visuals; but EathBound's personality is so fucking incredible.

Check out this video. It goes over the music samples used. It's pretty interesting, the choices made and how they were manipulated. The Beatles make more than one appearance on the soundtrack.

This game sends some bad messages so far. Cops opening attack you on the streets of Twoson, crime bosses becomes something of allies after you beat them, colored people are the enemies with UFO enemies in a place called Peaceful Rest Valley. This game is weird and it's 100% the charm.

I seem to remember it having a couple of difficulty spikes here and there, like the department store. And the Carbon Dog/Diamond Dog fight was tough because I always found myself on the verge of running out of healing with how long it goes on. Then again it's been over a decade since I played the game so my memory could be a little off

Once you get Jeff and can get Big Bottle Rockets, literally everything is a cake walk. Wait until you can get Multi Bottle rockets lmao.

It got addicting to me. It is weird as hell that's for sure, especially when you fight the moles who keep saying they're all the second most powerful. Then if you actually had gamepro, gamefan or game players magazine they had a smell section as for the game and it actually smelled like rotten stuff. Nintendo did themselves no favors with that ad I'm sure with a scratch and sniff puddle of puke.

Well, got to Threed. I ran into some zombies south of town and they were rough especially the zombie. Did 40-50hp dmg to me and my Paula only had like 60HP at the time. Two hits to her and she's dead.

I tried to speak with all the NPCs in town and they pretty much tell you what's going on. Zombies are on the loose, they work for Belch and Belch works for Giygas so you gotta defeat Belch to save the town. Anyways, I stopped playing once I got to Jeff and recruited the bubblegum monkey. One thing I'll always remember for some reason is that Jeff is broke as fuck but in the official player's guide, there's a screenshot of him having 3k money. I always wondered if there was a way to get that or maybe the devs fucked it up. Here is the screenshot I'm talking about:

Just got to Mr Saturn's village. The brown croc outside of the village does some major damage so you can't play it too safely.

I know it's supposed to be cartoonish but the whole zombie attack thing on Threed scared the shit out of me as a kid.
