I don't know how successful I will be (I probably will fail horribly) but I'm on a start. I'm working my way through the years. I usually start with significant Nintendo games and then third party games and then the miscellaneous stuff.
I'm only sticking to main NTSC/PAL releases with the exception of major Japanese only titles like Final Fantasy V or something.
I might skip sport titles because I have no interest in them. I'll play them for about 30 minutes to get a feel and leave it if I don't give a shit.
Also playing on a SNES classic because I have no money to afford an actual SNES plus old shitty yellowed cartridges that people get away with charging like $60 for these games. So if a game doesn't work due to shit emulation I'll skip it. Not using any savestates. I can use save states on practice runs or something but if I beat a game using save states it doesn't count.
Currently playing Castlevania IV.

Here's are the games I've played so far ranked.

There were hundreds of SNES games, and some near impossible to play because of the language barrier.

I wish you luck.

There's a guy on YouTube who decided to play every NES, SNES and Genesis game. He started 11 years ago, and he's still not done.

100% completion.

For example getting all the exits in Super Mario World, getting all the upgrades and items in Link to the Past, beating a fighting game with all characters etc etc.

Good luck. Are you planning on doing any write ups for the games?

I'd like to maybe but I don't know where. Maybe I should start a blog.

When you're done contribute to HCG101, they would probably like some articles.

My thoughts so far are...

Super Mario World - Fantastic, creative, inspired level design and the world and level exits just feel organic. Yoshi is a fantastic edition and if there's any complaints I can give I guess it's not as many power-ups as Mario 3 but it really doesn't any more power ups. The spin jump is a great mechanic, Yoshi has heaps of different moves, the cape is good fun and requires some skill to perform flying well. Just a good game

Link to the Past. - Once again fantastic. The Overworld is more condensed and jampacked with interesting secrets and places to explore. Coming from Zelda 1 this is a massive upgrades. Intuitive level design, it's soaking with some atmosphere (especially some of the dungeons which are all unique and diverse), the bosses are fun, it's got that Zelda lore mystique and wonder in the story. Getting to the Dark World is a treat because it's opens up a new world to explore and opens up new secrets via the magic mirror that links the world which is a fantastic mechanic. If I had any complaints about Link to the Past is some items are just useless.. Like the Cane of Someria only being used for a few puzzles that it's it. The upgrade system with the wishing pond place in Lake Hylia is very tedious as well and I think there's some misplaced music in the game. The Light World Dungeon theme should have been swapped with the Dark World Dungeon theme because it's so much better and would have fit more.

I'll take about the rest of the games in another post later.

Just beat Castlevania IV. I've actually already beaten this in the past but I've completed it again.

Out of all the Castlevania games I've played and seen... IV is my favourite. The ambient, gothic soundtrack is fantastic and oozing with moody atmosphere, the levels are in depth and the multiple levels makes the locations feel dense and oppressive at times. The gameplay is slicker and smoother and the whipping in 8 directions is just fantastic. Also love that the game goes for more realism than anime and cartoony.
The gripes I have with the game is mainly the items. I really wish they would have made it so you can carry more than one powerup. Why not map select or X to switch cycle through all the powerups you have? I'm assuming they were worried it'd be too easy but it's just frustrating working on getting your powerup to max level and then losing it because you accidently stepped on a knife. And for those that don't know, the more you use projectiles to kill enemies, the more likely a level up for the weapons will appear in a candle, so you go to all the work getting to max level with an axe, step on a knife and you lose everything. Kinda bullshit.
Not to mention I think for the most part the game is well balanced, far and fantastically designed, but there's just moments that makes me scratch my head. Like rarely they'll throw a skeleton or bat at the end of a collasping corridor that hits you because you have no idea it's coming and it sends you flying back into a pit to your death. To me that's not good difficulty, it's cheap old Nintendo janky horseshit that is unfair.

But great game. I want to play the other Castlevania that's on SNES.

I might play Super Ghouls and Ghosts next. I've heard it's the hardest game on SNES.

You'll probably simply get bored after you're done most of the heavy hitters.

Or get fed up with poorly made games.

For obscure games I always enjoyed some puzzle game where you're a ball and roll around. I don't remember the name.

Jurassic Park was cool too.
