Wii U was a bomba itself but did they really expect one of the most story based non visual novels in gaming to do well when only the third game was avaible on Nintendo platforms?

If I had to guess, they want to let some more time pass due to Mass Effect 3's ending and the disaster that was Andromeda.

I kind of wonder if they even care about Mass Effect anymore. They put so much effort into making it an IP that was more than just video games then just kind of dropped it completely. There was a lot of potential in that universe, but they'd probably have to bite the bullet and declare a canon ending. (I feel like destroy would make the most sense, but you could probably make control work if you set the next game like hundreds of years after the Reaper war)

Plenty of stuff they could do around it, I feel. Either going back in time to other events, playing as someone else in the same time or actually do Andromeda properly (and not in the way they left it, to do the same mismanaged fuck ups with Anthem)

Tbh in my fantasy any sort of thing would be a remake of the original trilogy akin to like FF7R or something

basically the story/characters are all there but the gameplay is tweaked and some story stuff is changed/improved

Zaeed, while great, isn't really integral to the game and I guess they'd just reuse his lines/not change his story much.

i played through the second game without him like 2 times because when the game came out we didn't have wireless so i couldn't download him

That's what makes him so important. He's one of like 4 cool characters in the entire trilogy.

That being said, they could just re-use his lines and leave him be and I'd be fine with it. Maybe even more than fine due to how easily EA/Bioware could fuck up additions to his character.
