Like I was reading the subreddit, one guy went over three years without orgasming and was literally losing his shit over his streak being over. Other people in the subreddit were telling him "hey that's still pretty good not the end of the world" but this guy just kept going on and on about his streak being over, like his ENTIRE ego was invested in the fact that he hadn't fapped in like three years.

I've had my struggles with this in the past (sex/masturbation isn't something I can really enjoy in moderation, sadly). To me there's a clear difference between porn induced orgasm and just jacking it to your imagination. I've been able to mostly break free from porn (might still use it once or twice a week, but I try to avoid slipping into daily or multiple times daily use) and my performance with my girlfriend has increased tremendously. It's a legitimate thing, and I can also get excited about fairly "vanilla" stuff instead of having to go deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole of perversion.

It's anecdotal, but any time I've been single I have stopped masturbating cold turkey and it's always led to me finding a girlfriend fairly quickly (within a few months I would say, which is a huge deal for me). I just get it in my mind that I will only orgasm with a partner, which I think leads me to taking more risks, yes, but it also seems like I'm more confident in general and I always know the right things to say. I become a natural flirt, and usually I'm passive, clumsy, awkward.. distant or indifferent. Sounds like bullshit but this has been working out for me since before NoFap was a thing.
