I think his interpretation is correct: it's a power-play by Pelosi to duck accountability for passing bad bills.

Sounds like easy bait to be hit with.

Even if they show up and do nothing, it'll come across better than "My opponent decided taking a near 4 week break in the middle of a national emergency was better than working through it"

Or Hell they could've just said "due to the given circumstances of DC becoming an increasing hotzone, we have decided for the safety of our older representatives to no longer have the House hold session until the 4th of May. If another emergency arises or if the situation deteriorates significantly then the House will come back before then."
