you're a big manual fan? you can't even get a manual on most upper end sports cars anymore.

Imagine still wanting manual in 2020. Just have one of these sitting on the passenger seat if you wanna toy around with something useless.

I like it, it's what the new NSX should have been.

They messed up by not having a manual option though. Paddle shifters are faster now but most enthusiasts don't give a shit about being .500 seconds faster, they want the driving experience.

Most Vette buyers aren't enthusiasts.

They're 55+ year old dudes who never get it out of 3rd gear and just brag about it.
To them, the .5 sec matters.

I saw a picture of the new Vette and it gives off a serious Ferrari vibe and I dig that a lot. Here in quite some time when Im going through my midlife crisis I think Im gonna buy me one of these 2020s.

what do you mean about the new nsx? the new nsx looks better than the vette, and from what i've read it's better also. You really think the vette is the better car?

Eh, I don't like the styling of the new NSX. The whole design is uninspired IMO. Give me the NA1 or NA2 year models any day.

Never said that the specs of the car sucked, I just don't like the styling. Plus if I'm in the market for a 150k sports car I'd pick up a used GT3 Porsche.

I never said that it was. It's like comparing my 370Z to an R35 GTR, different markets and benchmarks for performance.

If I'm in the market for a 150+k sports car, aesthetics go a long way for me.

Price wise yes, but the Mustang GT isn't a sports car. There aren't that many sports cars in the mid-range 30k-45k price range being made now to compare to though.

The new vette looks like some 100k+ hyper supercar, like a ferrari or something, it's amazing, and apparently it starts at only 60k. Yes, that's expensive, but keep in mind some Nissan Maxima trims go for 42k, and some minivans can hit 45k easy. Not bad for a car that can smoke some Lamborghinis, right?

The GT500, as powerful as it is, is just a mustang. They're porky, they're not sports cars. It's an amazing car, but it's no Corvette rival.

Preferring manual isn't about it supposedly being superior or having better performance, it's about having more of a connection with the car while driving. Same reason I prefer manual or hydraulic steering racks to electric ones. I've driven many new vehicles at my work and the steering and handling feels numb even when compared to my base model 2002 Honda Civic. I feel zero connection with the road or the vehicle.

The only problem with the new corvette is it's super difficult to do burnouts in it (super important if you want to drag race)

Due to the transmission fighting it, and the car having so much grip.

Basically you have to neutral drop into the burnout, but because the car has so much grip, it'll turn into a roller.

EDIT: You can see it in this video, even the chevy engineers had to give the "we'll get back to you" line when asked how to do a burnout.

They came back the next day with the neutral drop option, but honestly it came across as something they didn't even think about
