In other words, if you were a middle school student taking an online math class (which is not IDEAL, of course, it's a sucky situation all around), would you prefer if your teacher:

a) showed a powerpoint presentation while he talked over it,
b) filmed himself in his room with, say, a giant whiteboard
c) used an "overhead projector" camera angle where the only thing that's being recorded is a piece of paper/mini whiteboard and the teacher writing things on it
d) used a drawing tablet and made a khanacademy-esque video

Hope this makes sense. I just wanna stick to one and start practicing. I think I'm leaning towards the c), since I'll be teaching geometry so I would need to show my students how to use a protractor for angles and that might be easiest if I zoom in on my hands and paper

Not sure if youve seen any of the newest CBT Nuggets videos but the way they do it is basically record themselves talking to the camera, cutting away at times to slides and use a touchscreen or something to draw on top of whatever slides you may have prepared earlier as youre talking.

CBT nuggets videos

I'll look that up, thanks

I'm hoping to keep things as simple as possible ONLY because my wifi at home is very, very spotty. So at the very least I should stick to only one camera operating at once.

back in college i found webwork extremely helpful for learning, at least on the homework side of things

not sure what its availability is like though

edit: it's apparently FOSS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WeBWorK)

Yeah. It is a bit expensive but they have a 7 day trial if all youre looking for is inspiration. Id suggest the Cisco 200-301 CCNA videos since they are particularly high quality examples of what I meant in the first post

Drawing tablet. Easily. My calculus BC teacher used to do this in the classroom and that's the one subject I learned best because of that. PowerPoints are terrible if ur actually trying to teach.
