That's one reason I had trouble getting into Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I much prefer when each character has an assigned role and I can just play the game. It's different for games like Animal Crossing where customization is the whole point of the game. But in level/mission based series like Fire Emblem, I feel like it just makes things overly complex.
