I guess you're calling me conceited and disingenuous then, because as I said, I'm only speaking from personal experience. That said, if someone blocked me for some otherwise unknown reason, I'd almost see that as worse; it would show that not only does someone disagree with me, but that someone would be so afraid of saying so that they'd go straight to the block button. I find that sadder tbh.
