2000 wasn't a bad year. It was an optimistic time and still felt like the late 90s.

2020 so far.
Big reason is thar I couldn't even drive then (legally), so I was always on edge when I drove my dad's truck to the store when he was out and my mother was working at 12 years old. I've already got in trouble once for taking my mother's car to the movies when we got out of school early one day. It sucked since I was basically stuck asking my older sister or my parents for a ride if I wanted to go anywhere with my then friends. My dad thought he was slick that he would intentionally leave his truck keys on display because he 'knew' I didn't know how to drive stick, but I've been observing him drive that truck fot years now, and picked up on it rather quickly. 2000 was filled with optimism and was actually a great time for technological advancement. In fact, I'd venture to say that 2000 was the best year out of any we've had since then.
