Very surprisingly, yeah.

I had lots of friends. Then, from about 18 onwards, I don't know what happened. Also, pretty unpopular on my main message board, i.e. Current Events.

I never wanted popularity, so I couldn't say if I even could be if I wanted to. All I know is I was likable and barely ever had to make the 1st play on girls. I liked small groups, it felt more intimate.

Nah. Pretty much invisible, which I was happy for. I had pretty extreme social anxiety issues until I met my wife.

I was semi-popular in the sort of dorky crowds, band nerds, theater kids, art students, etc.

Then my junior year I did a video project where we filmed an orientation video for incoming students and I was the
one who had to be in front of the camera so my senior year every single freshman knew me, which kinda sucked but also made me sort of popular.

Not the first year of high school. I was constantly bullied. After I got into sports and started actually defending myself the bullying stopped and I became fairly popular.

They try to find less popular people to treat as a pet. You were right to be stand offish.

The girls seemed to like me and some of the guys bullied or picked on me for that reason.

The metal heads didn't like me.

The Preps, Jocks and Brothas didn't give me any trouble.

I got a pass from the Brothas because I pretty much lived where they did and they knew me since K.

At the time I never understood why because I was raised to act stupid.

I had that Sean Penn look and had to hear Madonna remarks all the time..

People called me names like Spicoli and and the black kids called me Pacman.

My high school didn't really have cliques or a group of popular kids. We were mostly on equal footing, and the amount of attention you get was mostly determined by how far you put yourself out there in school events. Or at least that's how I felt.

I never thought of myself as popular but I had a close circle of friends and got along with most people. I went to lots of parties and generally look back at my school daze with good memories.

Yup, and it got to be highly annoying many times.

People definitely knew who I was in middle school because my best friend was popular. More with the guys than girls, since I was a dork.

Yeah, I was on the basketball team and we were a traditional powerhouse so most people knew me.

I'm naturally introverted and like my space (only child syndrome) but I never had a problem making friends or getting girls. I was just the chill, cool guy around campus.

I was in elementary school lol. Not in high school but still had alot of friends.

Yeah tho I didn't realize it much at the time. Knew a lot of people since Elementary school, was an honors/AP kid, had enough friends in different circles and built a reputation so everyone knew me and could talk to me.

Ironically, once I started to withdraw socially I became more popular.

my school wasn't segregated, or anything, but you often had people who hung out based on race.

and I'm black and my best friend was half Asian/half white (and a jock), so we were cool with the: Asian kids, black kids, Hispanic kids (black and Hispanic kids often hung out), and the jocks.

we were stoners, too, so we were cool with the stoners, and for some reason, people believed that I sold weed, so we were also cool with the drug dealers.

we also did well with girls, so that was cool.
