Been checking a couple online stores for paper towels and toilet paper and they go in and out of stock every day. For the past 2 weeks. WTF it was never this bad and when I tried to ship it to myself it wasn't come to be here for 3 weeks.

Saw a bunch of packages at Target. Limited to 1 per customer and picked one up just in case. I have one pack of rolls now and a second will hold me off for a long time I would hope.

At my local Walmart, toilet paper gets stocked between 4-5 PM and is completely gone by 6. So, basically, yes.

Go early or be disappointed.

Bear in mind they'll have a lot of stock squirreled away for staff too, I know someone that works at supermarket type place without frozen food, and they've got loads of rolls, wipes, soap, sanitiser etc put aside for staff to buy.

So get there early, or become friendly with someone on the tills.

The TP hoarding is the stupidest thing to hoard IMO. Soap and shampoo are more important but hey its fine with me.

Wow. Unbelievable a 1 hour time window or you screwed. With online shopping you seem to have a 5-10 minute window or it gone.

Also as a tip, the Senior Citizens get into grocery stores first, and you should go to places that people dont first think of to get TP. My dad goes to Smart and Final every Sunday morning when it opens and he gets TP. So I just pay him to get it for me because he can get in first as a SC.

I ran out of toilet paper a week ago and I haven't been able to buy any anywhere. I'm just using paper towels now and throwing them in garbage bags.

Just today I've been to 3 different grocery stores and one pharmacy and I had to stand in line each time. Not one single place had toilet paper >_<

Yea same happened to me I just decided to try online after giving up with local stores.

But its not like it ever goes bad. Even after the whole thing dies down, they will just not to have to buy TP for a long while. In the end they free up their budget a tiny bit because its one less thing to buy.

Toilet paper is bulky, typically you can only fit about 10 units on a shelf. So when people stock up, it makes the shelf look barren and makes people panic buy.

Yeah During this time period it is easy to get soap, detergent, shampoo, deodorant, and even canned drinks. Stuff that hard to get is TP, Paper towels, gloves, and disinfectant spray. With TP being most ridiculous how fast it gone.

I used to collect hot wheels and this tp craze reminds me of it

I used to door warm at target on mondays and wednesdays to get good cars, at walmart they would put out new cars late at night usually at midnight. There was always guys hovering around the toy section just waiting for the pallet to go out onto the floor

Some guys would get a job at walmart even though they didn't need the money, all just to save hot wheels for themselves, other guys would pay employees to save good cars for them

I got a job so I didn't have as much free time, plus target wouldn't get as much hot wheels same with the 99 cents store so it would be months of the same cars on the shelves. I still collect the ones from the early 90's as those are my childhood, the rest of my collection from the past decade I started to sell. I realized I just wanted to take pictures of them and keep them in boxes plus they were taking up a lot of room

I work at Costco and we get full trailers of nothing but TP every morning and it's gone within 2 hours or so.

Compared to a few weeks ago when there wasn't a limit per customer, limit of people in the store, and no seniors hours, and yeah it was all gone in 30 mins tops.

Protip though - visit mom and pop stores, they usually carry TP because everybody goes to the big chains. There's an Italian grocery store near me - they're fully stocked with TP every single day, have never run out. Also try small towns, less traffic equals more product.

Online is going to be worse than in-person.

It already is. You have 10-15 minutes to get the item and go to checkout max or you wont get the item. I really miss the days you could go online and get TP, Paper Towels, disinfectant spray and rice all in same order. Now at most you can only get 1 from that list.

When the hoarding started it seemed like the things that went first were toilet paper, milk, and meat. The food stores around me were fully stocked with fruits, vegetables, grain, and other high fiber items. Given all that, I'm starting to believe that most of the country is just in a perpetual state of diarrhea and nobody talks about it.

I've found some good deals on toilet paper on Amazon, but it looks like a lot of people are stupid. They are giving them one star reviews because they ship out of China. The virus would be dead before that paper ever touches your asshole. Not to mention at this point is it any worse than being shipped from within the States?

My local supermarkets are doing this asshole thing. They open the supermarket an hour early and call it "senior hour". If you're not 50+ you can't get in. everybody romanticizes this with images of the elderly woman that's weeping in front of empty supermarket shelves, but in reality it's a bunch of 50 year old (so, middle age, not super elderly) buying everything that just got restocked.

By the time the supermarket is open for the general public EVERYTHING IS GONE.

I guess people aged 6 through 49 with 11 months don't need to wipe their ass or sanitize their hands. If I need toilet paper 2 weeks from now I guess I will have to go to amazon and buy like, 6 toilet paper rolls for like, $200 or something stupid like that and hope it gets delivered before the end of may.

I am ok with opening the supermarket 1 hr earlier SOMETIMES for elderly people. But right now almost every day 50 year olds get to fucking empty the entire week's stock of everything and then the rest of us don't get a whiff of anything

That's a lot of time, when the snes mini was available to pre order, it went out of stock in less then 3 minutes. It kept happening every time other sites tried to have them available to pre order for months. Most of it was by bots
